Geert Wilders denied entry into Great Britain

Geert Wilders has been denied entry into Great Britain. The Dutch parliamentarian had been invited by members of the House of Lords to show his movie Fitna and participate in a debate about freedom of speech. Today however, Wilders received a letter from the British embassy in which he was informed that he would not be allowed to enter the United Kingdom.

"Great Britain is sacrificing freedom of speech. You would expect something like this to happen in countries like Saudi Arabia, but not in Great Britain. This cowardly act by the British government is a disgrace. I was invited by a British member of parliament."

Fitna has been show in a number of countries, such as Israel and the United States. Next week the film will be shown in the Italian parliament, and in a few weeks another showing is set to be held in the United States.

Wilders hasn't decided yet what he will do next.

"I am seriously considering travelling to Great Britain anyway."
