Tackle the Islamic terrorists and their sponsors, now!

On Monday, the Dutch secret service AIVD announced that it takes the possibility of a major terrorist attack in our country very seriously. For over ten years, the establishment closed its eyes to the Islamic threat. On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorists assassinated thousands of people in New York and Washington. The alarm bells sounded for the entire free world. Also for us. 9/11 made it clear that any country could fall victim to a major attack if Islam would not be radically confronted.

But the Dutch political establishment did nothing. For 13 years, they put their politically-correct heads in the sand. Pim Fortuyn was murdered. Theo van Gogh was murdered. There were Islamic terror attacks in London, Madrid, Mumbai, Moscow, Nairobi, but the cowardly policies continued. The regents in The Hague closed their eyes to the barbaric ideology that currently feeds terror worldwide: Islam.
Today, parties, such parties as VVD and D66, hypocritically argue that they, too, like the AIVD, worry very seriously about the risk posed by returning Syria fighters. Why do they not close the borders? Why do they not advocate, like the PVV, that whoever goes to Syria to fight for Islam will simply not be allowed to enter the Netherlands again? By doing nothing, they make themselves complicit in the calamities and the attacks that may befall us.

Last week, a poll by the opinion research bureau of Maurice De Hond revealed that three quarters of the Dutch are of the opinion that those who have left to wage jihad should lose their Dutch nationality and not be allowed into the country again. Why does the government not close the border? A majority of voters of all parties, except D66, thinks that the Islamic culture does not belong to the Netherlands. Why, apart from the PVV, does no-one dare to say so?
For ten years already, I have lost my freedom as a result of Islamic threats because I speak the truth. Ten years ago, Ayaan Hirsi Ali and I already warned that Saudi Arabia was financing extremist organizations, mosques and schools. We warned that hundreds of Islamic fighters in Europe were ready to commit terrorist actions. We warned against the naiveté and cowardice, the refusal respond adequately. We only received scorn and disgust.

We wrote that there had to be a strong response to the threat, if necessary by setting aside basic rights for terrorists. We advocated to close down the institutions which propagate hatred and intolerance. We advocated a ban on associations which incite jihad or condone it. Nothing happened.
Today we are reaping the fruits of this cowardly policy. The potential threat is "greater than ever before," writes the AIVD. But the Dutch political establishment is complicit to this situation. The Secret Service says literally: "The Dutch law seems to offer the police and judiciary little space to intervene." For thirteen years, nothing was done to remedy this situation. The Islamic extremists mock us. They take advantage of the cultural relativism that is the breeding ground for the flourishing of jihad on our soil. This cultural relativism has facilitated the deadly threat which we are facing today.

The AIVD advocates a "Delta Plan against Jihadism." However, this "Delta Plan" should already have been in place for a very long time. The Delta Works in Zeeland began after the flood of 1953. If we do not immediately put a tough action plan into practice in order to protect our citizens against the rising tide of Islamic terrorism, we are in danger of coming too late this time, too. Tackle the terrorists and their sponsors, now!

The Terrorists Are Among Us - by Geert Wilders

Ten concrete measures to prevent Islamic terrorism in the Netherlands.

In several Western countries, the authorities are concerned about the security risk posed by young Muslim immigrants who went to Syria and Iraq to wage jihad and are now returning home. They are considered the most serious security risk in decades.

The risk is not just theoretical. Indeed, on May 24, Mehdi Nemmouche, a young Muslim with a French passport, went on a killing spree with a Kalashnikov assault rifle in the Jewish Museum in Brussels. He killed four people. Nemmouche had previously been in Syria, where he was trained in guerrilla warfare.

During the past three years, thousands of young Islamic immigrants from all Western countries, Europe, Australia, America and even Russia, have gone to fight in Syria, where they have committed the most horrible atrocities. Some of them were killed in action, while others have since returned home. They carry Western passports but they hate the West. They walk our streets as ticking time bombs, eager to cause as much havoc in our cities as they have caused in Syria.

The West cannot just sit idly by and wait for the next terror attack to happen. We must protect ourselves. If we do not, the barbaric scenes that play today in Syria and Iraq will soon be repeated in our countries. Ordinary people are well aware of the urgency of the problem. Last week, I proposed ten concrete measures to prevent Islamic terrorism in the Netherlands. A poll showed that a large majority of the Dutch support the plan.

The first measure I proposed was (1) automatically to strip immigrants with dual nationalities of their Dutch passports if they leave our country to fight for Islam in Syria. This way, they will not be allowed back into our country. Britain already uses such legislation. Last December, the British authorities stripped 20 people with dual nationality of their British nationality because they had traveled to Syria to fight. As Theresa May, the British Home Secretary, rightly declared: "Citizenship is a privilege, not a right."

I also proposed (2) the immediate administrative detention of those fighters who have already returned, as well as (3) the reintroduction of border controls and (4) a halt to immigration of people from Islamic countries. International treaties prohibiting these measures should either be modified or terminated.
Another measure is (5) the encouragement of voluntary repatriation of people originating from Islamic countries. A survey shows that 73% of Dutch Muslims regard fighters in Syria as heroes. Such attitudes do not belong in the Netherlands. We should also (6) deal severely with the supporters of the fighters in Syria. Mosques, Islamic schools and other organizations that provide financial or other support to those who go to fight in Syria must be closed down immediately.

And we should (7) spend more money on security. Money that is currently being wasted on development aid would better be spent on the AIVD (the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service).
Finally, there are three measures with an international rather than a domestic impact. We should (8) stop Dutch military intervention in the Islamic world and focus on the protection of the Netherlands. We should (9) support Israel and stimulate economic relations with the Jewish state. Israel is the front line in the fight against jihad. If Israel falls, the West falls. And (10) we should break diplomatic relations with countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, that support terrorist groups such as ISIS.

The proposals were well received by the public. An opinion poll this week showed that 82 per cent of the Dutch believe that jihadists returning from Syria and Iraq increase the risk of an attack in the Netherlands. 76 per cent favor stripping jihadists of their Dutch nationality, 67 per cent want to introduce border controls to prevent them from returning, and 75 per cent want additional manpower for the AIVD. 65 per cent of all Dutch believe that Islamic culture does not belong in the Netherlands. Even a majority of the voters of Labour and the far-left Socialist Party share this opinion.

There is an acute awareness among the Dutch that in order to have a safer Netherlands we need to exclude jihadists from our society. We have become so indoctrinated with political correctness that we might consider this as wonderful and surprising news, although it is just plain common sense. Those who travel abroad to kill people for the sake of Islam should not be allowed to walk our streets again.

PVV-plan against terrorism receives broad support from voters - 65% of Dutch: Islamic culture does not belong to Netherlands

Foto peilingAt the request of the PVV, Dutch public opinion poller Maurice De Hond asked the opinion of a representative sample of more than 1,200 people about the plans of the PVV against Islamic terrorism in the Netherlands.

This poll shows that:
- 82% believe that returned jihadists increase the risk of an attack in the Netherlands
- Almost half (47%) believe that the government is doing too little to prevent attacks
- 67% wants to introduce border controls in order to prevent the return of jihadists
- 76% believe that jihadists should lose their Dutch nationality and may never be allowed to enter the Netherlands again
- 75% want additional manpower for the Dutch intelligence service AIVD

It is notable that no less than 65% of all Dutch believe that the Islamic culture does not belong to the Netherlands. Even a majority of the voters of Labour (PvdA), the Socialists (SP) and the Christian-Democrats (CDA) share this opinion!

PVV leader Geert Wilders: "It is crystal clear: the Dutch want a safer Netherlands. People want to exclude jihadists from the Netherlands and take away their passports, introduce border controls and demand more manpower for the AIVD. It is an absolute breakthrough, and also wonderful news that not only two-thirds of the Dutch say that the Islamic culture does not belong to the Netherlands, but that a majority of voters of all parties (except D66) shares this view, including those of the PvdA, SP and CDA!"

Party for Freedom (PVV) proposes plan against Islamic terrorism in the Netherlands

Islam shows its true face in Syria and Iraq. Gruesome fanatics, including terrorists with Dutch passports, leave a trail of blood throughout the Middle East. The Netherlands have to protect themselves. If we don't, the barbaric scenes that play today in Syria and Iraq will soon be repeated in our country.

Geert Wilders: "The terrorists who kill and maim in Syria and Iraq may never get the chance to do so in the Netherlands. These Islamic criminals are a danger to our society. This evil must be confronted."
